About the event

the||apiary (noun: a place where bees are kept; a collection of beehives) is an electro-acoustic experimental ambient duo playing viola and electronics. Their new project “ecological_succession” is a meditation on the progression of life, moving from barren ecosystems to ones brimming with sonic activity. Through field recording, structured improvisation and poetry, they create complex, textural, living environments; we get lost and find new paths to strange places. In the||apiary, there is space to listen, reflect and be taken somewhere else; an organic softness that may embrace an ear; whisper things in long-forgotten languages.

In 2025 the||apiary is presenting their first studio EP: ecological||succession. In this work, they meditate on the ecological concept of succession, whereby ecosystems change from barren environments to ones brimming with sonic activity. "We want to develop this EP to give a voice to our environment; to make the landscape sing. Given the situation we are in as a species (the rapid destruction of our natural world), it is of vital importance that we learn to listen to the things around us, and the beings surrounding us. This EP is an attempt at doing so."

Llajta Quartet is a Jazz Fusion band founded by Fernando on guitar, Alwin on keys and piano, Pakito on drums and Luke on Bass. Llajta comes from Quechua and it translates to town, but for people from Cochabamba it means home. Legends say that the land that gives birth to you will miss you when you’re gone, with this spirit we bring our homes wherever we go in the form of music. This project is focused on talking about the human experience using music and improvisation. Songs about feelings, ideas, dreams, thoughts, math, science, philosophy, psychology, existentialism, spirituality, the obsession of humans with knowledge and power. We’re open to any style as long as it speaks the truth and there’s room from improvisation and freedom of expression that’s who we are.

Ticket price: 8,5€
