SHADE+1

SHADE is a project of original compositions which draw inspiration from a wide-ranging array of musical genres. Jazz, folk and rock all fuse together in the band's original repertoire.

SHADE’s music is also set to convey an atmosphere reminiscent of the Scandinavian musical landscapes and the deriving mood is of gloomy nostalgia and alienation with a sour contrast of bright hopefulness.

Guitar is the protagonist in this music, with haunting arpeggi or rhythmically shifting riffs. But with the addition of the voice the focus turns towards the lyrical and verbal content of the melodies, adding up to the overall sound with strong conceptual significance.

The band’s playing main focus is on portraying a vibe of unpredictability and of high interplay, questioning the definition of groove and at the same time defying the dogmas of style and genre.
