ONA Quartet live

ONA Quartet was born in 2020 in Valencia, in a small town on the Mediterranean coast.

Formed with an initially unconventional lineup of two cellos, a violin, and a piano, our quartet embraces the diverse influences each of us brings as musicians — or as different 'ones' (wave in Valencian) — that ultimately shape our sound.

For this concert, we have proposed a journey back to our roots in pan-Hispanic culture. We will begin the concert as a trio performing La muerte del Ángel by the tango revolutionary Astor Piazzolla. Then, maintaining this energy, we will continue with more tango, but this time with a very popular melody by Carlos Gardel. At this moment, we will give way to the full quartet, with our original arrangements, such as Arturo Márquez's Danzón No. 2.

In the second part, there will be a radical change of atmosphere. New instruments will enter the scene, and we will continue exploring tango and other Latin American music genres, such as the Brazilian choros of Zequinha de Abreu. Ticket: 15€
