About the event
Luke discovered his alter-ego Lisa in 2014; "she came to rescue me at a time when I thought that my life was over. Lisa is able to tell the truth about how she feels in the moment, and to talk with the audience, and allow them share their own emotional truths with her. In this way, Lisa is unpredictable, but everybody loves her too."
Lisa's character, and the way that her song lyrics remain open to new meanings, makes every concert unique. No 2 performances are ever the same. Lisa is not only a pop star, but she also dances, reads stories, constructs and destroys things on stage. All of these performance actions are framed by the music; in one song, Lisa gazes at National Geographic footage of the oldest discovered human skull whilst singing:
It's easy to see, how we inevitably drift apart...
When she turns to the audience, it could be a breakup song, and maybe in a way it still is a breakup, gazing at the skull and thinking about the barrier of time that separates us from our ancestors. These kind of double-meanings, are what makes Lisa's work so special.
