About the event
Kiki Deirdre is a modern-day folk musician and writer based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Her music and writing is intimate and personal, yet universal and strikingly confronting. With a raw, authentic sound, and poem-like lyrics, her songs tell stories of love, loss, and the human experience.
She’s been performing since 2009 and has been writing her own songs and poems since 2014. Her performances are honest, and through her passionate voice and natural melodies she creates an atmosphere that invites the listeners to connect with both the music and each other.
"After my debut in 2017, I began exploring how I could connect my two passions - music and storytelling - on a deeper level. In the fall of 2021, this led to the idea to write music based on a story. This is how the story of Suzie Saol came to life. After 2.5 years of hard work on both the story and the music, it is now time to share both of these with the world.
'How’s Life?' provides an intimate insight into the human mind and the impact of generational trauma. You get to meet the protagonist of both the novel and album, Suzie Saol, and experience her coming-of-age story through an album and a novel."
