About the event
Jamming Lines Session 4
The "Jamming Lines" performances began as a deeply personal exploration—a way to confront and process my past traumatic experiences. Over time, these sessions have evolved into a broader, more profound investigation into the hidden layers of emotion, particularly the suppressed anger that runs through generations of women in my family.
In the context of this performance practice, the music functions as a space for solidarity. The sounds create a site of consolation and support that allows anger to materialize - in a way, by emptying and framing a situation, and thus providing space and focus to allow the materialization of anger. It's precisely the silent quietude of sounds that make an experience transparent for the sharing of vulnerabilities and traumata that are otherwise suppressed. At the same time, this space-giving is also a hypersensitive medium that reacts to tiny impulses of the drawing to keep in tune with the waves of expression that traverse the body.
