Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes feat. tschnz

Flowers/Ghosts & Echoes is an immersive and experimental audio-visual trio from The Hague. Consisting of two electric guitars and live visuals, they exploring a unique world of slow-moving, atmospheric textures. Think drones, post-rock textures, noise soundscapes, and minimalist repetition, along with a unique visual performance.

Guitarists Gonçalo Oliveira and James A.-McEwan improvise highly stylised, rich and layered instrumentals that drift between calm and chaos. In its main formation, the duo works with visual artist and designer Felix Bodin, who creates immersive projections in real time, using a custom setup of digital projections and a handheld, flexible mirror. The result: shifting waves of light, and complicated patterns, moving in tandem with the music. Sometimes gentle and meditative, other times wild and unpredictable.

For this performance, the duo will be working with digital artist and software developer Jens W. Schindel, whose installations and live performances showcase a captivating play of rhythm, technology and art. In his collaboration with Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes, tschnz takes Felix Bodin’s visual language, and extends it out into his own unique visual world, in a push and pull that happens in tandem with the guitar duo’s sonic tapestries.

Expect a performance that blurs the line between sound and sight, offering an experience that’s as much about feeling as it is about listening or watching.
