ELKA Live

Trio  ensemble consisting of Alistair Payne (UK) on trumpet, Tancrède  D.Kummer (FR) on drums and Uldis Vitols (LV) on double bass, ELKA works  as a collective platform where all members bring along their affinities  to different musical genres and creative processes.

Currently  based in Amsterdam, ELKA develop their repertoire in weaving modules orbiting one another, alternatively using layered rhythmical frames and  abstract textures.

Conceived  as a sonic mobile installation, the trio merges contemporary composing  with improvisation and live electronics to outline and distort intense  soundscapes.

In  contrast with their rather humble instrumentation, ELKA shows great  concern for carefully arranged parts and spectral density.
