About the event
Myrthe Koolstra is a Dutch songwriter. In her music she turns stories into sound. Dark green woods and whispering trains, sixteen colours of autumn and a small ray of sunlight. She grew up on a houseboat on the edge of Amsterdam, in between chickens, six siblings and a lot of instuments. She played in orchestras, familyband Koolstrae, and played as sidekick in different projects. Now for the first time she plays her own music with her own sound. Myrthe colours her poetic and intimate songs with Job Huiskamp (cello) and Peter Willems (double bass). Together they give you a moment in time to wander. Sounds like Eefje de Visser, Madison Cunningham and Spinvis.
Opening act: Hester Hester’s songs often resemble paintings. His angel-like falsetto paints a dreamy background to which his creaking low voice tells stories. He sings about the rawest forms of honesty, the dystopia of this era and non-violent communication. A grasp of his inspirations are Jeff Buckley, Nine Inch Nails and Gorillaz.
